Transition to SJNC

Welcome to Sir Jonathan North! Below you’ll find some important information regarding your child’s transition to Year 7.

Year 7 Open door event

Due to the current situation, we’ve taken a blended approach to our Open Evening, whereby we’ll merge a virtual event on Thursday 17th September with the potential to take part in a in-person organised talk soon after. This virtual event will encompass all of the exciting elements you may have expected at any ‘typical’ Open Evening, and will still provide an opportunity to meet our dedicated staff, tour our exciting facilities and explore our broad and balanced curriculum. To secure your place at our virtual event, you must book your place using the button below. Only by providing us with your contact details, can we provide you with your unique link to the online material. This link will be delivered straight to your inbox on Thursday 17th September, 5pm, and will incorporate the following:

  • Principal's Welcome Video, telling you what it means to be part of the Sir Jonathan North community, and about our culture and ethos
  • Curriculum Overview, led by Directors of Science, Maths, English, Geography, History and PE – we are unashamedly ambitious for all of our students; come and learn how
  • Curriculum Trailers:  A taste of what you can expect in the classroom at Sir Jonathan North.
  • Site tour, highlighting our key facilities that enhance your child’s education
  • Holistic Development and Pastoral Opportunities - led by our Assistant Principal for KS3 and Vice Principal, ensuring our young people leave Sir Jonathan North as well-rounded individuals.

Following our virtual event, we’ll provide the opportunity for you to meet and hear from members of the Leadership Team on site in small groups on Thursday 24th September. Sessions will take place at staggered times from 3.15pm until 5.30pm and will be limited to 26 people, with no more than one adult and one child per household You must wear a face mask, and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Further guidelines about conduct during these meetings will follow upon booking.
