Vision Statement
To support our students to be good people, we help them to successfully shaping their future, by equipping them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions and aspirational choices.
Our all-girl community aspirations, have traditionally included medicine, veterinary medicine, accounting, business, hair and beauty and social care. However, we recognise the need for our students to engage with a variety of sectors, and be made aware of opportunities and growth areas, which would have been typically male dominated, such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) team at Sir Jonathan North also arranges a wide range of experiences and opportunities and are always keen to extend the employer engagement opportunities we offer our students. We are aware of the rapidly-changing labour market, and want to ensure our students are equipped with the right skills and information in order to compete effectively with their peers in the future.
In addition, we would welcome any local employers, colleges and training providers into college to speak to students about specific industry sectors, local employment, employment skills, and training opportunities. This could be in the form of an assembly, lunchtime talk or by participating in our online events.
We carry out a Compass + review every term to help us evaluate our career activity against the eight benchmarks of best practice – known as the Gatsby Benchmarks. It also helps us to discover our strengths and find areas for improvement. Our student destination data for the previous academic year is also updated and published each year during the Spring Term
